Bocce Game -
Lacquered Wooden Balls Petanque Set

This set does not have the animal characters; instead it comes with the
same storage bag picture above, and has 2 wooden red balls, 2 wooden
green balls, and 2 wooden yellow balls, and a little natural wood target
ball.
This Wooden
Bocce/Boules/Petanque set offers lots of outdoor fun for the whole
family. The set includes 6 wooden petanque balls, and one little
natural "coche" target ball - all made in France. The
set also includes a colorful carrying case for neat storage, and easy
travel!
Here's how to
play: First, divide into teams of one, two or three players.
The first team/player to take a turn throws the little target ball
("coche" in French) from an established starting circle.
For the rest of the game, each player takes turns trying to throw their boules closer to the
target/coche than the other team. After all the boules have been thrown
each round, the team with the boule closest to the target receives a point for each boule that is closer to the
target than their opponents. The first team to earn 13 points wins the game.
It is a fun challenge to master the skill of throwing the ball as close
as possible to the target ball. Made

 We
were watching children making up their own game of Bocce playing with
rocks (see who could throw the rock closest to the little rock in a
ring), and we remembered how much fun it was to play Bocce (or "Boules"/Pétanques)
in France and Italy. So we set out to find a lovely wooden set of
real Bocce/Boules for the family to play together. Happily we
found this adorable set made in France by Vilac. The set includes
six wooden balls finished with child-safe stains, with adorable animal
faces (2 pink/red - zebra, 2 yellow - tiger, and 2 green - monkey), and
each set comes packed in a colorful little zipper bag with carrying
handle and a clear vinyl window, perfect for keeping everything stored
