In 2006 Brown Bag announced
that they would discontinue the ever-popular cookie molds; however
designer Lucy Natkiel will continue to make one special cookie mold each
year with the benefits to support a different charitable cause each
year. This year, Lucy has designed a very special 2008 mold to benefit
Heifer International.
“Heifer and Friends” has a lovely folk-art appeal, featuring a gentle cow
and her animal friends, a bunny, a lamb and a rooster (the latter two
leisurely perched on the cow's back.) The mold makes wonderful
imprints - everyone here has marveled over how lovely the Brown Bag
cookies are. Such a fun project to make with children. The
cookie mold includes a Cookie Recipe booklet and instructions.

Brown Bag has always been about sharing something small and
personal with family... whether family by birth or by choice. I have decided to design just one very special cookie mold a year to
help families.
Sales from this 2008 cookie mold will help support Heifer International. This wonderful organization was founded in 1944 with the mission of ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Rather than just supplying food, Heifer
International gives families in need livestock and training in sustainable environmentally sound agriculture. Each family is then required to "pass it on" by giving one or more offspring from their Heifer animal to another family. And on it goes. This is a long-term solution that fosters dignity and self reliance.

f rom the sale of the mold to Heifer International.

Brown Bag will donate 100% if its profits from the sale of “Our House” Cookie Molds to Habitat For Humanity, with the funds ear-marked for Gulf Coast Relief.
“Our House” is a Victorian Gingerbread House, complete with a Gingerbread Family, including dog, out front.
“Our House” cookie molds are made in America and will be available only during 2007. The goal is to raise enough money to build a whole house, family to family, cookie by cookie, … Our House.
