These wonderful vintage cookie
and craft molds are hand-finished replicas of beautifully detailed
antique cookie molds (some known as springerle molds), many of which
were carved hundreds of years ago. Many of the original molds or "presses," now in museums and private collections, were carved in clay, wood or metal and are as old as 500 years.
There is something magical about making cookies and paper casting crafts
from images that have their roots in the old ways. The "picture" cookies cast from these
antique cookie molds were used to tell stories visually when most people were unable to read or
write. They
celebrate all manner of special occasions and holidays. We imagine
the delight of children and adults in long ago times when they were
offered cookies made with these molds; now we can enjoy these same
images centuries later. These antique replica cookie molds are made of a resin and wood
composite, and each mold is individually hand cast and carefully hand
finished. Each mold is mounted with a hanging ring. The original
historic cookie mold carvings had imperfections such as surface cracks and worm holes,
and our replicas mimic these characteristics, adding authenticity and charm to
the molds. In
addition to baking cookies, you can create beautiful, edible, sweets using marzipan, fondant and modeling chocolate. Crafters, artisans and scrapbookers will find infinite ways
to use these molds to create paper-castings, cards, wall art, gift bags, ornaments, and charms.
Playdough can also be used. These antique replica molds are beautiful
in their own right as decorating accessories: the molds look like wood
carvings and are perfect for display when hung on a wall, displayed on a plate rack, or table top easel.

Antique Reproduction
Cookie Mold Cleaning Instructions:
For immediate reuse, pick out bits of dough with a toothpick or
brush with a soft-bristled brush such as a Mushroom Brush. Clean under running water or
rinse in warm sudsy water. DO NOT PUT THESE MOLDS IN THE DISHWASHER!
Be sure details are dry before using again so that water in crevices doesn't wet your dough and make it stick.
